TV Star Story - Cynde Watson
Integrity, charisma and beauty that radiates from the inside and out: these are the ingredients that make makeup artist and beauty expert, Cynde Watson, so special. I first met Cynde when I worked at Sony Pictures Television. At the time, she was Executive Director of Global Makeup Artistry and Education for Bobbi Brown Cosmetics. At a Bobbi Brown in-store event she applied my makeup magnificently and I was hooked. We’ve remained colleagues and friends since.

Her TV Star Story began with he modeling career that culminated in being crowned Miss New Jersey in 1992. Prepping for pageant life gave Cynde a great foundation for TV as she learned to present herself with confidence, poise and grace.
Her work with Bobbi Brown cosmetics lead to appearances on TV as a makeup and beauty expert on shows like “The Today Show,” “Ambush Makeover” and “B Smith With Style,” on which she appeared in features and segments offering makeup tips and advice on all things beauty.
Cynde always dreamed of creating her own cosmetic line, but knew she would only do so if she could create something uniquely different. Her COLOR BY CYNDE WATSON line was born when, as a mother applying makeup with her daughter on her arm, she found herself reaching for makeup pencils for fast application. This was Cynde’s “Einstein moment” and makeup pencils became the building block of her cosmetic line.
She soon after connected with a marketing expert who got behind her concept and introduced her to the folks at HSN, where she was embraced.

In this week’s video, Cynde explains how confidence, branding and packaging are all important parts of the presentation process for getting you and your product on TV. In addition, she suggests visualizing yourself already being part of the team.
